Privacy, with care.
Your story deserves thoughtful handling. Here is how Ecclesia Publishing Inc. handles information on this website and in correspondence with us.
Effective . Ecclesia Publishing Inc. is based in Ontario, Canada. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to our privacy contact at info@ecclesiapublishing.com.
What the website collects
The current contact, manuscript and consultation forms are previews. They validate entries on your device but do not send them to us, upload files or reserve appointments. This application does not save form contents to browser storage. Your browser may separately offer autofill or remember entries according to its own settings.
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. It processes technical request information, which may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page and request times. Hosting and error logs support delivery, troubleshooting and security. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Requests about information handled for this website should come to us.
Supabase Storage delivers the public book covers and spine artwork. Requests for these images reach Supabase and its delivery providers, including technical information such as your IP address and browser. See Supabase’s privacy policy.
Preferences and tracking
We use local storage on your device to remember your light or dark theme and whether you have dismissed the bookshelf hint. You can clear or block that storage in your browser; those preferences may then reset. The application does not send these saved preferences to us.
The installable website keeps a limited cache of public scripts, fonts, book artwork and a simple offline page. This additional cache does not store form entries, private manuscripts or API responses. You can remove cached website data through your browser or device settings.
The website currently has no advertising pixels or marketing analytics scripts, and we do not track your browsing across other websites. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Hosting services may use essential cookies or other security technologies.
Enquiries and correspondence
Email links open your email application. If you send a message, we receive the contact details, project information, message and any attachments you choose to include. We use them to respond, discuss requested services and, if work is agreed, carry out that work. We may also keep relevant records for accounting, legal obligations, security and resolving disputes.
Please send only material you are entitled to share. Avoid unnecessary personal information about other people, government identification and payment card details in email. Selecting a file in a preview form does not send that file to us.
Manuscripts, authors and published books
Sending a manuscript for an enquiry does not transfer copyright or give us permission to publish it or use it for publicity. Publication, author credits, biographies, covers and promotional excerpts are addressed through separate permissions and publishing agreements. Privacy and permission issues involving identifiable people in a manuscript need to be considered before publication.
A privacy request does not automatically cancel a publishing licence or recall books already distributed. We consider requests involving published material under the applicable privacy and copyright laws and agreements. We cannot promise removal of every printed copy or third-party listing. This does not limit rights the law gives you.
Who handles information, and where
Information may be handled by our hosting, email and technical service providers and, for agreed work, the people who need it to deliver the project. Access and use must be limited to the relevant purpose. We may disclose information when legally required or where law permits it to protect rights or address fraud or security incidents.
Providers may process information in Canada, the United States or other countries, where local laws and lawful access by authorities may differ. We do not promise Canada-only storage. We remain responsible for our obligations when information is processed on our behalf, including requiring appropriate protection and any transfer safeguards that applicable law requires. You can ask about the providers and safeguards relevant to your information.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the enquiry or agreed work and any applicable recordkeeping, legal or dispute needs. The type of record, purpose and legal requirements determine the period; you can ask about a particular record. Information no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised. Required records may need to be retained, and backup copies may take longer to expire.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information’s sensitivity and limit access to those who need it. No website, storage system or email service can be guaranteed completely secure, and deletion from every backup may not be immediate.
Your privacy rights
Canada. Our commercial handling of personal information is subject to Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), with other laws applying where relevant. You can request access to your personal information, ask how it has been used or disclosed, request corrections, and withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will explain any effect on services. You can also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
United States. Where a state privacy law applies to you and our activities, rights may include access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, and opting out of sale, advertising-related sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling. California law also provides limits on certain uses of sensitive personal information. These laws have coverage thresholds and exceptions; visiting this website does not mean every state law applies. Our current website does not carry out those advertising or profiling activities. You may appeal a denied request where the applicable law provides that right.
Elsewhere, including the EEA and UK. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or another local privacy law applies to our handling of your information, you may also have rights to erase it, restrict or object to processing, obtain data portability and complain to your local data protection authority. Rights depend on the law and circumstances; we do not promise that every regional law applies to every visitor.
Where a lawful basis is required, we rely on requested steps before a contract or its performance for service enquiries and agreed work, legitimate interests in running a secure website and managing ordinary correspondence, legal obligations for required records, and consent where required. These interests must be balanced against your rights. Withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing.
Making a request
Email info@ecclesiapublishing.com with the information or request you want us to review. “Privacy request” is a helpful subject line. We may ask for limited information to confirm your identity or authority to act for someone else; please do not send identification documents unless requested.
We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any permitted extension, refusal or information we must retain, along with available complaint or appeal options. We do not penalise you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Some services may depend on information necessary to provide them.
Other services and policy updates
Retailers and other websites you choose to visit, and your own email provider, handle information under their own policies. A retailer link does not give us control over that retailer’s records or published listings.
We update this policy when our practices change and show the effective date here. Before enabling live submissions, bookings or new uses of personal information, we will explain the relevant collection, providers and handling, and provide any additional notice or obtain consent that the law requires.
